Local Band Celebrates Album Release in a Big Way
Abstract Sells Out Local Show As They Release First CD

Photos & Story by Jack Porter, Jr.

Madera - Local rock band Abstract sold out Royal 8 Billiards Saturday night as they celebrated the release of their first CD, The Romance. Over 200 Abstract fans packed the building just outside of Madera on Road 26 for the two and a half hour show which featured three other bands.

Abstract drummer Jeff Delaguerra knew it was going to be a big night when all of the pre-sale tickets to the show sold out earlier in the week. Everyone who purchased a pre-sale ticket received the bands CD at the door with no extra cost.

According to Abstract singer Leandro Aguilar the Madera band organized when four of the members were students at Madera High School. Four years later they are still going strong. Starting next week, their music will be featured on Fresno rock radio station KRZR as well as a couple Phoenix stations.

The band will play the Royal 8 again on January 31st, then will head down to Southern California to play a few higher profile shows. The Royal 8 has shows open to teenagers as well as adults every Saturday night.

The album is available at Strawberry Alarm Clock in Madera, as well as Tower Records and several skate shops in Fresno.
