DUI Enforcement Operations Planned this Memorial Weekend Print E-mail

CLOVIS - Officers from the Clovis Police Department’s Traffic Division will be deployed this Memorial weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers as part of the Department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign. DUI Saturation Patrols will be deployed in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and /or arrests.

High Visibility Enforcement using both DUI Saturation Patrols has proven to lower the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug impaired crashes. Research shows that crashes involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized proactive DUI operations are conducted routinely.

Truck Driver Dies in Fiery Explosion on Hwy 99 Print E-mail

ATWATER - One man is dead following a fiery explosion on Freeway 99 in Atwater. The unidentified truck driver lost control of his tanker-truck which contained over 9000 gallons of gasoline as he exited the freeway.

The Applegate exit on the south-bound side of Freeway 99 is a sharp 45 degree right-hand turn, which the driver failed to negotiate. The truck turned over onto it's side emptying the 9000 gallons of fuel on to the roadway threatening several restaurants and an AMPM Gas Station as it ignited.

FSO Ag Task Force Detectives Arrest Man for Additional Bee Hive Thefts Print E-mail

FRESNO - On May 22, 2017, a detective with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Ag Task Force arrested 51 year old Pavel Tveretinov of Sacramento. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail and faces 10 felony counts for possession of stolen property. His bail has been set at $67,500.

On April 28, 2017, detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Ag Task Force began an investigation into the theft of bee hives. FSO Detectives and deputies with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office went to an orchard near the intersection of East Central Avenue and South Temperance Avenue in Fresno and discovered more than 100 hives, which had been reported stolen from Madera County.

Party Time Ends For Truck Thief's Print E-mail

FRESNO - The Fresno Police Department received a call this morning regarding the theft of two large box trucks that were stolen from a party supply rental company in the area of Gettysburg and Valentine. The location of the trucks was being monitored via GPS.
 
Detectives from the Fresno Police Department’s Career Criminal Auto Theft Team (CCATT) responded to the call. One truck was located by detectives in a trailer park in the area of Jensen and Maple. The other was located in the area of McKinley and Polk. Both were unoccupied so detectives began surveillance.

Suspect Pulls Gun Following Traffic Accident Print E-mail

FRESNO - During the mid-mornig of May 13, 2017 the Fresno Police Department received a call regarding a collision in front of Sequoia Middle School, 4050 E. Hamilton. The reporting party said the other driver did not have proof of insurance and officers were dispatched.

While officers were on the way, the reporting party called back and said the other driver pulled out a gun. Officers arrived on scene and detained the suspect while they investigated.

FRESNO - On May 11th detectives from the Fresno Police Department's Northwest District Investigations Unit doing follow up investigation to a theft from a vehicle where sensitive documents of the victim’s were taken from their car. 

The investigation lead to probationer Randall Law’s (25) Fresno apartment. During a probation search of Law’s apartment, detectives recovered the victim’s documents from Law’s apartment.

Armed Casino Patron Arrested Print E-mail

COARSEGOLD - Early Wednesday morning Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino Security notified the Madera County Sheriff’s Office that a patron in the casino displayed a handgun to an employee and threatened to shoot someone. It was reported that patron told the employee that someone had spilled coffee on him and he almost shot him for it.

Four deputies responded to the casino and located 21-year-old Donald Pisano of Madera walking on the gaming floor. Due to the information that Pisano was armed, Deputies ordered him several times, at gunpoint, to stop walking and show his hands. Instead, Pisano refused to stop and continued to walk away from the Deputies.
