Grizzlies return home July 22 for a Plethora of Promotions Planned During 8-day Homestand Print E-mail

FRESNO –  The eighth Fresno Grizzlies homestand of the 2016 season is scheduled for July 22-29, with eight home dates against the Albuquerque Isotopes (Colorado Rockies,  July 21-24) and the Las Vegas 51s (New York Mets, July 26-29) for the defending Triple-A National Champions.  Here is a preview of the week’s promotional schedule:
 

7/22 (7:05 p.m.) –  “30 Amigos Night,” 30th anniversary tribute to cult classic movie ¡Three Amigos!: To begin the homestand, we’re celebrating the 30thanniversary of the release of ¡Three Amigos! starring Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short.  Stick around after the game and fireworks for a special screening of the movie on the Chukchansi Park video board!

GRIZZLIES: All-Stars Dozier, Hauschild Honored Heading into Break Print E-mail

ROUND ROCK, Texas – Omaha Storm Chasers SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game participant Hunter Dozier and Fresno Grizzlies Pacific Coast League All-Star Mike Hauschild have been named the PCL Player and Pitcher of the Week for July 4-10, the league office announced Monday.

In five games, Dozier hit a PCL-best .636 (14-for-22) with five extra-base hits, 23 total bases, two home runs and five RBI. He also paced the league in on-base percentage (.680), slugging percentage (1.054) and OPS (1.725), with his 14 hits tying for the PCL weekly high. Dozier hit safely in all five games, recording four three-hit games. In a doubleheader at Iowa July 6, he scored four runs and collected five hits, including driving in the game-winning run in game two with a ninth inning single.

FRESNO - Fresno State held its Football 101 Ladies Night Tuesday evening at Bulldog Stadium, its second year for head coach Tim DeRuyter, wife Kara and coaching staff running the fun and memorable social event that provides women with a unique behind-the-scenes look at Bulldog football.

With help from presenting sponsor Saint Agnes Medical Center, Fresno Lexus and increased attendance in year two, the football program made a $6,000 donation to the Susan G. Komen Central Valley Foundation for breast cancer research and awareness that will directly impact residents right here in the San Joaquin Valley.

Tim Lincecum Returning to Pitch in Fresno Sunday at Chukchansi Park Print E-mail

FRESNO – The Fresno Grizzlies’ opponent on Sunday, June 12, the Salt Lake Bees, have announced right-handed pitcher Tim Lincecum is the scheduled starting pitcher against Fresno in the finale of the four-game series . First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. at Chukchansi Park.

Fellow right-hander and Houston Astros prospect Brady Rodgers is scheduled to pitch for the Grizzlies, having just been named Astros Triple-A Pitcher of the Month following a 3-1 record in five May starts, with a 2.70 ERA. Rodgers struck out 36, walking just six in last month’s action.

FRESNO - On an historic night in Fresno State baseball history that saw the Bulldogs stadium dedicated to legendary former head coach Bob Bennett, the Bulldogs used some magic to pull out a 1-0 walk-off win over San Diego State in 10 innings.

In a pregame on-field ceremony that featured the voice of the Bulldogs Paul Loeffler, Athletic Director Jim Bartko, Fresno mayor Ashley Swearengin, former player Bobby Jones and finally Bob Bennett himself, they were joined on the field by hundreds of former players and their families.
