MADERA - The 125th edition of the Madera District Fair came to an end. Sunday was bargain day with two for one wristband offers on the Midway of Fun and kids under 12 years old were free. Record numbers of guests took up the offers and passed through the gates for the Hispanic themed day.

Traditional Mexican music and dance were performed on the main and patio stages. Sunday was probably the busiest day of the run of the fair. The preliminary reports are that this year attendance is up over the previous years. Revenues from the carnivals and vendors were also up over the previous years.

The reasons for those increases might be because of all the improvements through out the grounds. Over 40 brand new picnic tables were added for families to sit down and enjoy there meals. A second portable stage was added to the back end of the skating rink near the 20/30 beer booth for more entertainment options and to move that traditional bottle neck of people off the main strip to make it easier for people to get around the fair.

The Madera High School Robotics Team took over Lumber Town for the fair transforming it into Tech Town. Virtual reality games, 3D Digital Printers and robots built by the high school students. They are even building their own 3D printers that you can purchase for $200. Next year Tech Town will be even bigger.

If you entered items in any of the contests in Woman's World, they can be picked up on Tuesday.
