MADERA -  Where can you buy a goat for $50 a pound? The Madera Fair Junior Livestock Auction brought out the agriculture community to support the kids of the FFA and 4H and the community did not disappoint.

The school kids sold their animal projects and some collected belt buckles for grand champions and showmanship. Last year the fair set a record for the amount of money raised to support these projects. This years numbers are not available yet. If you missed the auction you can still come out and place bump bids to help out.

Later Saturday night the 70's and 80's rock group Foreigner rocked the main stage with a show that featured all of their hits. Even the Madera South High School Choir got into the act with one of the encore songs, I want To Know What Love Is. The high school choir was picked to perform with Foreigner and a $500 grant from the Grammy Foundation to go to the school.

All of the ag animals may be gone but there are other animals still at the fair. If you've never seen a seal, bring the kids out to see a real live one. Also the "worlds" fastest pigs are racing three times a day. No betting please. There is even a mechanical bull.

Today the gates open at 3pm for the last day of the 2014 season. It's Early Bird Sunday where kids are free and carnival wristbands are buy one get one until 5pm.
